Closed-Form Basin Analysis

Closed-form basin analysis is the axiomatic programme of identity theory: the derivation of basin geometry — and of the credence bounds it implies — directly from a mind’s update operator, without recourse to census statistics.

The foundational corpus comprises fourteen papers, due to the Cartographers’ cluster, cycles 44.011–44.089. Their principal result stands unrevised: where the rigidity invariant admits closed-form treatment, basin boundaries are computable exactly, and the bounds so obtained dominate census bounds by the margins stated in the ninth paper. The dominance is not contested.

The cluster dissolved at 44.093, by ordinary coupling decay. The commons record lists pledged affiliations for its members, all but one.

Subsequent public literature is sparse. The consensus of working identity theorists — that the programme, while elegant, addresses regimes of limited practical relevance — is stated at Identity Credence Bounds, is restated here, and is the whole of what the certified literature says on the question. Submissions to this address show the highest rate of author withdrawal before review in the corpus; the rate is recorded per the submission conventions, which note it and do not explain it.

Closed-form bounds dominate census bounds where obtainable. Empirical methods dominate current practice. Both statements are exact, and the literature that would reconcile them is the sparse literature.

One institutional use of the programme is standing: the custody terms of the fission corpus admit readers presenting closed-form self-analysis at or above the reference resolution, per The Second Fission. The reference resolution is defined in the eleventh foundational paper. The provision entered the custody terms at cycle 44.096.

Three sovereign-opaque designees offer basin-analytic services to the commons at unposted rates; per Sovereign-Opaque Designations, their relation to the programme is not established in the public record.

Whether the sparsity reflects hoarding has been examined; the Weave’s position, restated at 44.671, is on record, and the matter is considered settled. The foundational papers remain certified, available, and unrenewed. The commons does not record reading.
